Thane: Jupiter Hospital Thane has successfully removed a massive 2.5kg liver tumour from a 58-year-old male patient without requiring a blood transfusion. The complex surgery underscores the hospital’s reputation for advanced surgical expertise and patient-focused care.

After conducting CT angiography with volumetric liver analysis and comprehensive medical evaluations, the hospital’s Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery team planned a single-stage resection.
The surgery was led by Dr Anand Ramamurthy, Director – Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery, supported by Dr Gaurav Patel and Dr Ankush Golhar, Senior Consultants – Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery.
“Despite the tumour’s size and complexity, meticulous planning enabled us to complete the procedure without a blood transfusion. The patient is recovering well in the ICU,” said Dr. Anand Ramamurthy.
